Buffalo Grove, Illinois - January 26, 2005 - Sargent-Welch, a VWR International company, supplying full-line, all-discipline science education materials to the K-12 and higher education markets for over 150 years, announced a partnership today with Quantum Simulations, Inc., to market, distribute and support Quantum's Internet-based artificial intelligence Chemistry and Mathematics Tutors.

A Free 15-Day Trial to all of the Quantum Tutors is available to interested teachers, students and parents at www.sargentwelch.com. The Quantum Tutors will be available for purchase on the Sargent-Welch site in the spring of 2005 for use by school districts, students and homeschoolers in the fall for the 2005-06 school year.

"The Quantum Tutors will serve as our flagship product to deliver new online products and services to educators and students over the Internet," comments Dave Kramer, Marketing Manager at Sargent-Welch. "As a full-service provider, we see tremendous opportunity to bundle the Quantum Tutors with other Sargent-Welch educational products and further enhance the overall learning experience and value we provide to teachers and students."

In support of No Child Left Behind, independent research shows that Quantum's artificial intelligence (AI) software can improve test scores by as much as 50%, significantly benefiting those students who struggle the most with chemistry and mathematics. Ideal for students struggling at home when a teacher is unavailable to help or answer questions, the software can help students with any problem they enter into the program, providing guidance, hints and feedback based on their own work. The Quantum Tutors improve comprehension and problem solving skills by encouraging students and teaching them how to solve problems in an environment where they are free to explore, make mistakes and try new ideas.

"We are very excited about our partnership with Sargent-Welch," adds Rebecca Renshaw, Executive Vice President at Quantum. "We now have two of the most respected companies in K-12 education as distributing partners - Sargent-Welch and Science Kit & Boreal Laboratories."
