ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SOFTWARE DELIVERS PERSONAL TUTORING HELP FOR STRUGGLING HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE CHEMISTRY STUDENTS

Research Indicates Student Test Scores Improve Up to 50%

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — November 18, 2004 — Quantum Simulations, Inc., developer of artificial intelligence (AI) tutoring software, announced today that students having difficulty with high school and college chemistry can receive affordable, personal tutoring help online and see immediate results in comprehension, problem solving skills and test scores.

"This time of year is difficult and stressful for many students because with chemistry, just like other science and math subjects, one concept builds on the next and once you fall behind, it's difficult to keep up with the rest of the class on new topics," comments Mr. Dale Holder, Quantum's Chief Academic Officer and award-winning chemistry teacher for over 35 years. "With the average teacher having 60 or more students, it's nearly impossible to give every student the one-on-one attention required to understand a subject fully."

Offered at a fraction of the cost of private tutoring services which can average $20 to $70 per hour of instruction, and more convenient than after school study programs, the Quantum Tutors® are easily accessed over the Internet by schools, students and homeschoolers for unlimited use at $43.00 per year. With funding and support from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation (NSF), Quantum® is committed to making its Tutors accessible and affordable for all students in support of No Child Left Behind (NCLB).

Quantum® is not intended as a replacement for teachers or human tutors, but rather is a supplement to classroom instruction, textbook reading, and at home study where a teacher is not available to help students with their problems or answer their individual questions. Unlike other tutorial software, Quantum's software allows students to work on any problem they need to study and receive guidance based on the student's own work and subject knowledge. At any time during the session, the student can ask questions, request hints or get an explanation of the next step in solving a problem.

Independent research conducted by Wexford Inc., a nationally recognized non-profit dedicated to creating equitable educational opportunities, shows that the Quantum Tutors® can improve student test scores by as much as 50 percent, specifically benefiting those students having the most difficulty understanding concepts.
