QUANTUM® DELIVERS OVER 1.3 MILLION ONLINE LEARNING SESSIONS

Quantum’s Adaptive Learning and Assessment SoftwareSM is proven to increase test scores, accelerate learning, and reduce drop-out rates.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – October 9, 2013, Quantum Simulations, Inc., a leading researcher and developer of intelligent adaptive learning and assessment software for business, mathematics, and science subjects, announced a major milestone today delivering over 1.3 million online learning sessions, more than doubling volume over the past two years combined.

Rated as “the most helpful resource” by students when compared to textbooks, homework systems, tutoring labs, and other digital resources, Quantum’s scientific approach to instruction and tutoring engages students at a deeper, intellectual level where breakthrough learning takes place. Feedback is personalized based on the analysis of student work, helping them understand why their unique answers are right or wrong. Students Ask a QuestionSM, receive instant How Am I Doing?SM progress dashboards and save study time with Targeted PracticeSM.

In a recent study published by the American Accounting Association (AAA), “Find it, Fix it, and Thrive - The Impact of Insisting on Proficiency in Prerequisite Knowledge in Intermediate Accounting”, Quantum’s software was used to assess student understanding and mastery of core concepts required for success. As a result, the Quantum® treatment group improved two full letter grades over the control group. In another study at CalPoly State University, faculty eliminated the textbook and used Quantum® for homework assignments, cutting material costs by 70% and increasing the number of A’s in the course 25%.

“It’s extremely rewarding to see that our rigorous research and software development approach is making a significant impact in higher education as evidenced by study after study showing improvement as a direct result of using Quantum®,” commented Rebecca Renshaw, Co-Founder and CEO. “We attribute our growth to three key factors. First is our proven ability to help students in measurable ways through meaningful, personalized, and engaging online learning experiences. Second, our partnership with John Wiley & Sons, Inc. has given us exposure where students and faculty access Quantum® via the WileyPLUS homework system. Third, continuing to give students and faculty a choice by creating software that can be used with any curriculum, textbook, or homework system."

Instructors save time by using Quantum® to work with students individually to answer their questions and provide them with step-by-step feedback on their actual work. This allows the instructor to have more meaningful interaction with students during classes, office hours and online because students achieve a higher level of conceptual understanding by working independently with Quantum® before going to the instructor for help. The result is a larger number of students are empowered to learn the material on their own with coaching and mentoring from their instructor. Instructors monitor progress with Quantum’s real-time assessment reporting tools to identify struggling students as well as those who have achieved mastery for just-in-time lesson planning and remediation before students fall behind or drop the course.
